Who we are
This website is operated by SoundHeart Counseling LLC, based in the Mat-Su Valley, Alaska. Questions about these terms can be sent to the contact details at the end of this page.
No professional relationship through this website
Reading this site, taking the Belonging Quiz, using the starting-point guide, or sending a message does not create a counseling, coaching, training, or other professional relationship.
- A counseling relationship begins only after an intake appointment and your signed informed consent.
- A coaching relationship begins only after you sign a coaching agreement.
- Training and retreat participation begins only after registration and acceptance of the program terms.
Not for emergencies
Messages sent through this website are not monitored around the clock. If you or someone else is in danger, call or text 988 in the U.S. or dial 911. Outside the U.S., call your local emergency number.
Licensure and location
Licensed clinical services are provided only to clients who are physically located in Alaska or Ohio at the time of each session. Coaching, training, and retreats are non-clinical and available in every state and abroad.
Clinical services follow the laws and licensing rules of the state where you are located during each session. You agree to tell us your accurate location before and, when asked, during each clinical session. If you will be outside Alaska or Ohio, please let us know so we can reschedule or discuss alternatives.
Counseling, coaching, training, and retreats are different
Licensed counseling is clinical mental health care provided under professional licensure.
Coaching is non-clinical. It focuses on skills, goals, and practice. It is not therapy and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
Retreats are training and coaching. They are not therapy and do not replace clinical treatment.
Training and certification are professional education. SoundHeart certification authorizes a professional to use NeuroRelational Belonging Theory™ and its methods within their own license and scope of practice. It is not a license to provide clinical services. Continuing-education credit is offered only where it has been formally approved and stated in writing.
Suitability and safety
SoundHeart may decline or end services when they are not a good fit or would not be safe, including where there is ongoing violence, coercion, or a crisis that needs a higher level of care. When we decline, we will try to suggest a more appropriate option.
Payment and cancellations
SoundHeart is a private-pay practice. Fees are shown in the secure booking, registration, or payment link before you confirm, and payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. Your signed agreement for each service governs fees, refunds, and attendance.
Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice, and missed appointments, are charged or deducted from a session package as described in your agreement. The only exception is sudden, acute, incapacitating illness.

Educational content
Articles, quiz results, and other materials on this site are for general education and self-reflection. They are not a substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment, or advice tailored to you.
Our materials
NeuroRelational Belonging Theory™, the BELONG Method, the Belonging Quiz, our articles, illustrations, and course materials, and the SoundHeart® name and brand belong to SoundHeart Counseling LLC. You may share links to our pages and quote brief passages with credit. Please do not copy, sell, adapt, or republish our materials, or use them to train others, without written permission. Using NeuroRelational Belonging Theory™ or its methods in professional practice, teaching, supervision, or training requires completion of the SoundHeart certification program.
Belonging Circle membership
The Belonging Circle is an educational reading membership. It is not counseling, group therapy, crisis support, or certification, and joining does not create a clinical relationship.
What is included. The 2027 season includes 20 live group video sessions, held every other week, on the four books of the NeuroRelational Library, read one book at a time, open to members who own any of the books, with discussion guides, a replay library of recorded sessions, and recorded sessions during longer breaks. The Circle plan adds 10 monthly live group Q&A sessions and 10% off SoundHeart retreats and training. All sessions are group sessions.
Books. Members must own at least one book of the NeuroRelational Library. Books are sold separately and are not included in the membership price. By joining, you confirm you own or will buy at least one book. Digital editions are licensed for your personal use only and may not be copied, shared, forwarded, or posted. Each copy may carry your name.
Season dates. The 2027 season ends on December 31, 2027, whenever you join. Membership does not carry over into 2028. Joining the next season is a new purchase.
Joining mid-season. The price is the same whenever you join. Members who join after the season starts receive access to recordings of the sessions held before they joined. Recordings replace the live sessions already held, and no partial price or credit is given. The replay library is available until December 31, 2027.
Schedule changes. Session dates and times are subject to change. SoundHeart may reschedule or cancel a session when needed. A cancelled session is rescheduled or replaced with a recording. Sessions pause for Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, a summer break, and year-end holidays, and members receive recorded sessions during longer breaks.
Payment. Season passes are paid once. Monthly plans are 12 monthly payments whenever you join, and payments may continue after the season ends. Payments are processed by Stripe.
No refunds. All payments are final and non-refundable, including for sessions you do not attend and for breaks. Monthly members may cancel at any time to stop future payments. If SoundHeart ends the season early, members will receive a prorated refund for live sessions not delivered.
Meeting access. Meeting links, passwords, and recordings are for members only. Please do not share them. Membership may be ended without refund if access is shared or if a member is disrespectful or unsafe toward others.
Privacy in the circle. Please keep what other members share in the circle. Share only what you are comfortable sharing. Sessions are recorded and shared with members. You may keep your camera off and use a first name only. SoundHeart cannot guarantee that other members will keep things private.
Acceptable use
Please do not misuse this site. That includes submitting false information, sending spam or malicious code, attempting to gain unauthorized access, or interfering with the site's operation.
Links to other sites
We link to outside websites, booking tools, and payment services for convenience. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
Limits of liability
This website is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, SoundHeart Counseling LLC is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from use of this website or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under law that cannot be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Clinical services remain subject to the laws of the state where they are provided.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above shows when they last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
