Couples retreats

Give your relationship a weekend, not just an hour.

Three and five day couples retreats in the Mat-Su Valley. Non-clinical training and coaching that gives you time and structure to step out of old patterns and practice something different together. Couples come from every state and overseas.

Who should attend

Training and coaching, non-clinical

For couples ready to learn and practice together.

  • Couples who keep returning to the same conflict
  • Couples who want a reset before a big transition
  • Couples in a stable enough place to learn and practice together
  • Couples from other states or abroad who want in-person work with SoundHeart

Format

Two lengths. One purpose.

Three day retreat

A focused reset. Learn your cycle, practice new responses with guidance, and leave with a plan for the weeks ahead.

Five day retreat

More time for depth and repetition. Suited to couples working through a rupture or a long-standing pattern.

Dates, location details, lodging, and group size are confirmed directly with each couple during inquiry. Fees are shown in your secure registration and payment link. We do not publish availability we cannot guarantee.

What to expect

Guided work, practice, and rest.

Retreat days combine guided sessions, structured practice between partners, and time to rest and reflect. The work follows NeuroRelational Belonging Theory™. Couples learn how their predictions about belonging shape their conflict, then practice new responses repeatedly while support is close by.

Retreats are led by Nawal Ibrahim, MS, MA, LPC, LMFT and SoundHeart facilitators.

Retreats are training and coaching, not therapy. They teach the framework and coach its practices in a calm setting. They do not create a therapist and client relationship or replace clinical treatment. Couples who need clinical care can choose a private couples intensive instead. Terms, privacy, and cancellation are explained in writing before you register.

Preparing

  • A suitability conversation with both partners
  • Short pre-retreat questions about goals and logistics
  • Travel and lodging guidance for the Mat-Su Valley
  • A follow-up plan for when you return home

Accessibility

Tell us about mobility, dietary, sensory, or language needs when you inquire. We share venue access details before you commit so you can decide with full information.

Suitability

A retreat is not right for every relationship.

  • Ongoing violence, threats, or coercive control
  • One partner attending under pressure
  • An acute mental health or substance use crisis, or a relationship in crisis that needs clinical care
  • An affair that is ongoing

When a retreat is not the right fit, we will say so and suggest a safer starting point.

Inquire

Ask about upcoming retreats.

Inquiring does not commit you to anything. We reply with dates, details, and next steps, then schedule a suitability conversation if you would like one.

Are retreats therapy?

No. Retreats are training and coaching. They teach the framework and coach its practices, and they do not create a therapist and client relationship or replace clinical treatment. Couples who need clinical care can choose a private couples intensive. Couples intensives

Are retreats right for every couple?

No. Every couple completes a suitability conversation first. Intensives are not a fit when there is ongoing violence or coercion, an active crisis that needs immediate care, or one partner attending under pressure. When an intensive is not the right fit, we will suggest what is.

When are the next retreat dates?

Dates and location details are shared directly with couples who inquire. Fees are shown in the registration and payment link. Ask about upcoming retreats
